Storage/Handling:
Store at room temperature between 59°F and 86°F (15°C and 30°C).

Common Side Effects/Comments:
Side effects include hot flashes, abdominal discomfort, blurred vision, insomnia, nervousness, breast tenderness, ovarian cysts, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) (excessive fluid retention and enlargement of ovaries usually with severe abdominal discomfort), ovarian enlargement

Contact the Physician Immediately:
If a patient experiences visual disturbances such as blurring, spots, or flashes. Or if patient experiences symptoms of ovarian hyperstimulation as described above.


Follicle-Stimulating Hormones (FSH)
Follistim® AQ (follitropin beta injection)
Injection

Storage/Handling:
Store at room temperature between 59°F and 77°F (15°C and 25°C) for up to 90 days. If product is kept refrigerated then it is good until the expiration date written on the box. Once used store refrigerated or unrefrigerated for a maximum of 28 days.

Commom Side Effects/Comments:
Common side effects include abdominal pain, bloating, breast pain, nausea. This drug can also cause Ovarian Hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) which should be treated as a serious matter and doctor should be notified immediately. Injection site bruising and soreness. This drug may cause thromboembolic episode causing tight chest sensation or difficulty breathing.

Contact the Physician Immediately:
If the patient exhibits any signs or OHSS (abdominal cramps, bloating, abdominal discomfort) or if patient has any difficulty breathing as described above.

 

Gonal-f™, Gonal-f RFF™ (follitropin alfa injection)
Injection

Storage/Handling:
Gonal-f 450 IU Multi-Dose: Store at room temperature between 59°F and 77°F (15°C and 25°C). Once mixed, it must be used within 28 days. Protect from light.

Gonal-f RFF Pen 300 IU, 350 IU, and 900 IU: Store refrigerated at 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C) until expiration date or at room temperature for up to one month. After initial use, store pen refrigerated or unrefrigerated for a maximum of 28 days.

Gonal-f RFF 75 IU vial: Store at room temperature between 59°F and 77°F (15°C and 25°C). Once mixed, it must be used immediately.

Common side effects include abdominal pain, bloating, breast pain, nausea. This drug may cause thromboembolic episode causing tight chest sensation or difficulty breathing. Headache, irritability, fatigue, restlessness, edema, depression.

If you miss your scheduled dose, contact office immediately!

Common Side Effects/Comments:
Common side effects include local discomfort, bruising and soreness at the injection site; ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) (excessive fluid retention and severe abdominal discomfort), ovarian enlargement, headache, irritability, restlessness, depression, fatigue, edema, precocious puberty. There is potential for thromboembolic events (chest tightness). Ovarian enlargement, headache, irritability, restlessness, depression, fatigue, edema. ovaran cysts, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, breast pain, flatulence, abdominal enlargement, and itching.

If you miss your scheduled dose, contact office immediately!
If the patient exhibits any signs or OHSS (abdominal cramps, bloating, abdominal discomfort) or if patient has any difficulty breathing as described above.


Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone Agonists (GnRH)
Lupron® (leuprolide acetate)

Storage/Handling:
Store in the original carton at room temperature between 59°F and 77°F (15°C and 25°C). Refrigerate after first use at a temperature of 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C) after opening for up to 30 days. Protect from light.

Common Side Effects/Comments:
Common side effects include local discomfort, bruising and soreness at the injection site; ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) (excessive fluid retention and severe abdominal discomfort), vaginal bleeding, pelvic pain, breast tenderness, hot flashes, vaginal dryness, constipation, headache, weakness, and dizziness. There is potential for serious pulmonary conditions and thromboembolic events (difficulty breathing or chest tightness).

Contact the Physician Immediately:
If the patient experiences an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, closing of the throat, swelling of the lips, tongue or face, or hives); difficulty urinating, bone pain, numbness, tingling or weakness in the legs or arms. If the patient experiences symptoms of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) (excessive fluid retention and severe abdominal discomfort) or symptoms of pulmonary conditions and thromboembolic events (difficulty breathing or chest tightness).


Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone Antagonists
Cetrotide® (cetrorelix acetate for injection)

Storage/Handling:
Cetrotide 0.25 mg: Store refrigerated at a temperature of 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C). Once it is mixed, it must be used immediately. Protect from light and moisture.

Cetrotide 3 mg: Store at room temperature between 59°F and 77°F (15°C and 25°C). Once it is mixed, it must be used immediately. Protect from light and moisture. immediately. Protect from light and moisture.

Common Side Effects/Comments:
Common side effects include local discomfort, bruising and soreness at the injection site; ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) (excessive fluid retention and severe abdominal discomfort), nausea, and headache. Treatment is not advised in women with severe allergic conditions.

If the patient experiences symptoms of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) (excessive fluid retention and severe abdominal discomfort).

Common Side Effects/Comments:
Common side effects include local discomfort, bruising and soreness at the injection site; ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) (excessive fluid retention and severe abdominal discomfort), abdominal pain, headache, vaginal bleeding, and nausea. Packaging contains natural rubber latex which may cause allergic reaction.

Contact the Physician Immediately:
If the patient experiences symptoms of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) (excessive fluid retention and severe abdominal discomfort).


Progesterone
(progesterone injection)

Dosage Form: Injection

Missed Dose:
Take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose as scheduled. Do not take two doses at one time.

Storage/Handling:
Store at room temperature between 59°F and 77°F (15°C and 25°C). Protect from light.

Common Side Effects/Comments:
Common side effects include local discomfort, bruising and soreness at the injection site; breakthrough bleeding, weight changes, changes in cervical secretions, breast tenderness, secretion of breast milk, acne, skin sensitivity reactions, hair loss, fever, insomnia, nausea, fluid retention.

Contact the Physician Immediately:
If the patient experiences breast tenderness or enlargement, numbness or pain in the arm or leg, pain in the chest or groin, severe headache, stomach pain, sudden shortness of breath, unusual weakness, vision or speech problems, or yellowing of the skin.

 

Crinone® (progesterone gel)

Store at room temperature between 59°F and 77°F (15°C and 25°C). Protect from light.

Common Side Effects/Comments:
Side effects include breakthrough bleeding, weight changes, acne, skin sensitivity reactions, hair loss, changes in cervical secretions, breast tenderness, secretion of breast milk, nausea, dizziness, fever, insomnia , fluid retention, and depression.

Contact the Physician Immediately:
